Lockdown at Cortijo Sabila
So we are 4 weeks or more into the lockdown at Cortijo Sabila and in Spain. It’s a very sad time for this beautiful country that I have adopted as my home. My heart breaks for all those affected by the virus and those who have lost loved ones, not just here but across Europe and the world.
Of course these are challenging times for many including ourselves, financially , physically and emotionally. I am missing our wonderful team and all the guests, the conversations and laughter.
With customers from all over the world and many nationalities normally visiting each week, there is so much variety to every day life. That has been a huge change to get used to.
But myself and the 3 dogs are blessed to call Cortijo Sabila home and to have the lovely gardens to enjoy still during lockdown at Cortijo Sabila. It may be quiet but there are plenty of winter and Spring jobs to do to stay busy. We are luckier than most to have all this space around us, as we cannot leave the property at all. Only to do essential shopping at the nearest shop and put the bins out. Who would have thought that putting the bins out would be such a treat?
I hope that everyone is staying safe and staying home. As difficult as it is for the economy, only by being a global and local community working together to beat this virus can we move forward eventually.
I am looking forward so much to reopening the doors and welcoming guests again. There will be changes and regulations to put in place, but this is a special hotel with special people staying here.
In the meantime, look after each other and your health.
